Animal Eye Care of New England is providing state-of-the art equipment and the most advanced medical and surgical methods to diagnose and treat eye conditions in our animal patients.
The ophthalmology team is comprised of Dr. Isabel Jurk, a board certified ophthalmologist and dedicated ophthalmology technicians who will work with you and your referring veterinarian to ensure the highest level of care for your pet in a relaxed and comforting atmosphere. Services provided by the ophthalmology service range from ophthalmic examination (e.g. evaluation of tear production and intraocular pressure, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, fundic examination) with digital photodocumentation, diagnostic work-up (e.g. ocular ultrasound, electroretinogram, gonioscopy) and treatment of ocular conditions to general and specialized ophthalmic and periocular surgeries.
While early eye problems often can be managed appropriately by your primary care veterinarian, more serious conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, severe injuries or cancer of the eye may benefit from the skills and expertise of a veterinary ophthalmologist who may offer vision-restoring therapy. You should ask your family veterinarian for a referral to a specialist if you feel one might be helpful. Both your primary care veterinarian and our service will work as a team to provide the best care for you beloved pet.
